Monster Lobsters Spiny Lobsters

Spiny lobsters, aka Rock Lobsters are a family of about 45 species. Spiny lobsters are also called crayfish, sea crayfish or crawfish. Like true Lobsters, spiny lobsters are edible and are an economically significant food source; they are the biggest food export of the Bahamas.

Spiny lobsters are found in almost all warm seas, including the Caribbean, East Coast of Florida, Mediterranean Sea, Australia, and South Africa.

Spiny Lobsters can be real Monster Lobsters. They produce a rasping sound to repel predators. Like a violin bowed, the Spiny Lobster makes this sound by slipping and rubbing its antennae base against a surface.

Spiny lobsters tend to live in crevices of rocks and coral reefs. They venture out at night to eat snails, clams, crabs, and sea urchin.

Spiny Lobsters are social and like to hang out together, unless one becomes diseased in some way and they all will stay far away and leave the sick one to die.

Monster Lobsters When You Catch Them, ....Then What?

Monster Lobsters are great fun to bag, but when you get them home....Then What?

Lobster is so much better fresh...so as soon as you get to shore with your bagged lobsters, you have a few options here.

You can throw them whole and live in your ice cooler and bring them home to a boiling pot with onion, lemon, lime, potato, corn on the cob, salt, pepper, garlic cloves, and paprika.

Or you can twist the tails off as soon as you get to shore, put them on ice, bring them home and bake them or roast them in the oven with butter, salt, pepper, and garlic for about 5 or 7 min at 350 degrees preheated oven.

I found an awesome site with more "fancy" and detailed recipes if your interested. It is a great site full of recipes for Monster and Regular sized Lobster. http://www.lobster-recipes.com/

FUN IN THE SUN WITH MUDDOG357

Fun in the sun with Muddog357.... Time Under The Sea is great, no concern really under there with skin and the sun. You do need a good sun lotion though for times above the sea. An SPF of at least 15+ BullFrog Is is my recommendation for the most reliable water fun product for safe fun in the sun I have used.

People often forget about lip, ear, and nose protection as well. These areas are hyper sensitive to the sun and need added care and attention.

Protection from UVA and UVB Rays is a must. UVA Rays damage skin long term like wrinkles, and UVB Rays are sunburn rays.

Be sure to never let your skin go unprotected from the sun, stay young looking.
